Experience the mystery of Mzaza at The Woombye Pub. If you haven’t heard of Mzaza yet, they are a  talented singing group from Brisbane headed by front woman Pauline Maudy.

Mzaza will offer a sultry, multilingual and powerful show backed by jaw-dropping vocal techniques and acoustic instruments.

Listen to French-born Pauline Maudy sing in Spanish, French and Turkish while creating masterful words and music fused with Mediterranean, Middle-Eastern and Balkan influences.

Mzaza’s songs are traditional blended with the alluring, playful and touching. Mzaza will be joined by TurkishDva: Tunji Beier & Linsey Pollak.

Linsey and Tunji have been performing since 1996. Both have studied varied musical traditions and create improvisations that draw on Macedonian and South Indian traditions. Linsey has been making and experimenting with wind instruments for 30 years. He has created new single reed designs made from wood, bamboo, glass, aluminum and hybrid bagpipes. These wind instruments are integrated with Tunji’s Mridangam (a South Indian Carnatic drum), Jaw Harps, Kanjira (a South Indian lizard-skinned tambourine) and other percussion instruments.

Mzaza has been touring the country for the past years. Fresh from their performance at the Perisher Snowy Mountains of Music Festival, Mzaza will be at the Woombye pub along with the Dva on July 13, 2013.

The Woombye Pub is located at 3-5 Blackall Street, Woombye Sunshine Coast QLD 4559. It is a short drive from our Motor Lodge Sunshine Coast.
